Investment
Required
The
fee for a ServiceMaster Clean franchise depends on the type of franchise
license selected. The costs of different licenses are as follows: for
residential services, $3,380 to $16,900; commercial services, $3,780 to $18,900;
disaster restoration services, $9,800 to $54,000; janitorial services, $5,980
to $29,900; small market services, $5,980 to $29,900. ServiceMaster Clean may
offer discounts to the franchise fee for existing franchisees, ServiceMaster
affiliates and employees, women, minorities and to those who have served in the
military. ServiceMaster
Clean provides the following range of investments required to open your initial
franchise. The range assumes that all items are paid for in cash. To the extent
that you choose to finance any of these expense items, your front-end
investment could be substantially reduced. Financial assistance is offered. The
following figures apply to the opening of a residential cleaning services
franchise.

Clean franchisees pay royalty fees ranging from 4-10% and a national
advertising fee ranging from ½-1%, depending on the type of franchise. Royalty fees have a $250 minimum and the
national advertising fee has a $20 minimum. What You Get—Training
and Support ServiceMaster
Clean franchisees are first required to complete the Pre-Academy program, which
involves home study, training at a designated regional office and passing a
written test. They must then attend the Academy of Service in Memphis, TN, for
two to five weeks. The Academy instructs franchisees on standard
administrative, accounting, hiring, pricing, inventory control procedures, and
troubleshooting ideas for operating problems and technical training. The
ServiceMaster Acceptance Company offers financing programs with a range of
options that are convenient, affordable and well-suited to the needs of the
franchisee. ServiceMaster Clean provides year-round support including national
advertising and marketing, business counseling, a franchise orientation guide
and start-up materials. Territory
