ERA Franchise Systems

In 1971, Jim Jackson founded the company, originally called Electronic Realty Associates, with the vision of utilizing the latest technology – then a fax machine ‐ to provide the highest quality service. Since that time, ERA Real Estate has continued its innovator role. In 1973, ERA Real Estate offered the first nationwide home warranty program. A few years later, the company introduced its ERA Sellers Security® Plan, a unique program that guaranteed homeowners that ERA would either sell their home or buy it.

Since that time, ERA Real Estate has been guiding people through the process of buying or selling their homes ‐ one of the most important financial commitments they will ever make. A leading franchise brokerage network with franchisees in 50 countries and territories, ERA Real Estate is made up of approximately 32,000 brokers and sales associates in approximately 2,600 offices worldwide.

Today, ERA Real Estate continues to be a pioneer in the industry by capitalizing on the power of the Internet to offer unique offerings to both sales associates and consumers. ERA Real Estate maintains an award-winning website that allows buyers and sellers to access homes for sale using a virtual open house for every listing. ERA Real Estate was the first real-estate franchise to provide nationwide home warranties with its Home Protection Plan, which guards against unexpected repairs. ERA Real Estate still offers the ERA® Sellers Security® Plan, a program that offers sellers a guaranteed price and sale date. In addition, ERA Real Estate clients have help with every aspect of their move and benefit from ERA Real Estate’s partnerships with moving companies, hotels and other services.

Investment Required
The fee for an ERA franchise ranges from $12,500 to $25,000 depending on the size of the market.

On-Going Expenses
ERA franchisees pay a royalty fee equal to 6% of gross revenue (minimum fees range from $331 to $662 depending on market size) and an advertising fee equal to 2% of monthly gross revenues (a monthly minimum of $353 and maximum of $1,224). Other ongoing fees include an assignment fee of $5,000.

Education, Professional Development and Support
The ERA® Training department delivers learning through a wide variety of sessions, formats and certification programs. Affiliates can participate in over 250 courses in live on-site classrooms, virtual classrooms and 24/7 self-paced courses. Courses are provided for everyone in your office from the broker owner to your office coordinator.

ERA associates can also obtain many nationally recognized designations through eCampus (ABR, SRES, Green course, eBuyer) or build their skills in prospecting, handling objections, presentations or working with buyers through one of the eCampus simulation courses. The ERA Top Gun Academy provides ERA Sales Associates with eight weeks of intensive training in customer-service skills, presentations and techniques.

ERA Real Estate offers personalized, targeted programs for niche properties, such as the ERA International Collection for luxury properties, the ERA Historical Real Estate Program for historical properties and the ERA Hispanic Marketing Program for the burgeoning Latino market. A national public relations program and nationwide advertising, print and online marketing strengthen the brand and give ERA franchisees more exposure and recognition.
