Huntington Learning Center

Founded in 1977, Huntington Learning Center is a pioneer and leader in the franchise learning center industry. Each year, quality instruction is provided to tens of thousands of students in kindergarten through 12th grade through a national network of franchise and company-owned Huntington Learning Centers. Parents trust Huntington, because they understand that Huntington’s mission is to give every child the best education possible, and that Huntington does this by building the basic skills they need to succeed in school.

There are more students today than ever before and more parents who want to have them tutored. According to the U.S. Department of Education, enrollment in elementary and secondary schools rose 20% between 1985 and 2003 to more than 54 million students. The pool of school-age children is constantly being refreshed and is expected to grow by an additional 2 million over the next 10 years. One of the most important factors is that parents are increasingly looking for a branded tutoring program because parents now, more than ever, are consumers of education.

Investment Required
The fee for a Huntington Learning Center franchise is $40,000

Huntington Learning Center provides the following range of investments required to open your initial franchise. The range assumes that all items are paid for in cash. To the extent that you choose to finance any of these expense items, your front-end investment could be substantially reduced.

On-Going Expenses
Huntington Learning Center franchisees pay a royalty fee equal to 8% of gross revenue and an advertising fee equal to 2% of gross revenue. Other expenses include local advertising costs, annual maintenance fees, software fees, phone-number license agreement fees, call-center license agreement fees, conference-service license agreement fees, school service royalties and fees and accreditation fees.

What You Get—Training and Support
Franchisees receive assistance with the following: site selection, hiring and training personnel, center layout and design, pre-packaging of equipment and learning materials and marketing and advertising materials. All franchisees go through formal training and are given supplemental support through Huntington’s Success Series – a series of operational manuals that detail the business and education system. On-site consultation and a management information system are also provided. Marketing materials are aimed at demonstrating Huntington’s effectiveness in tutoring children, and the package includes ad slicks, radio commercials, television commercials, direct mail and brochures.

Territory
Huntington Learning Center offers exclusive areas.
