MotoPhoto

MotoPhoto provides one-hour film development, restoration of old or damaged photos, passport photos, digital photography and 35mm photo conversions. Services such as personal photography have created substantial add-on business, and MotoPhoto also appeals to corporate customers who seek material for marketing brochures and annual reports. As added bonuses for customers, MotoPhoto offers portrait proofs within one hour and its stores are equipped with digital applications that endow customers with increased options for photo enhancing and digital transfers.

A dominant franchise in a $15.6 billion industry, MotoPhoto provides security through the strength of its brand name and more than 75 years of experience in the imaging industry and in franchising as reflected in their growth from 20 stores in 1982 to more than 144 today. Franchisees receive an additional competitive edge by being able to operate their stores within protected territories.

Investment Required
The fee to renew a MotoPhoto franchise is $1,750. Transfer fees are paid by the seller.

MotoPhoto provides the following range of investments required to open your initial franchise. The range assumes that all items are paid for in cash. To the extent that you choose to finance any of these expense items, your front-end investment could be substantially reduced. The following figures refer to a store that is transferred to the franchisee.

On-Going Expenses
MotoPhoto franchisees pay a royalty fee equal to 6% of net retail sales plus 3% of net wholesale sales; an ongoing advertising fee equal to 0.5% of net retail sales; a cooperative/local advertising fee equal to 5.5% of net retail sales; and a regional/national advertising fund fee of up to 2.5% of combined net retail sales.

What You GetTraining and Support

Franchisees receive support in areas such as design and construction, training, marketing, information systems and purchasing. Site-selection assistance and five weeks of training (two spent in a formal learning environment and three on the job) are also provided. Franchisees also benefit from discounts made possible through corporate contracts with vendors. MotoPhoto encourages its franchisees to suggest new ideas that are evaluated, tested and then shared with all other franchisees. Franchisees enjoy the opportunity to work with a group of entrepreneurial franchisees and an experienced franchisor management provides all other support.

MotoPhoto grants exclusive territories.
