Little Gym, The

When the first The Little Gym opened in 1976, the concept was revolutionary: a program that helps children develop intellectually, emotionally and socially, as well as physically.  Today, with over 400 locations and more than 30 years of experience, The Little Gym has continued to focus on a non-competitive program that creates a fun, positive experience for children.  The Little Gym has set the standard for progressive motor skill development while making a difference by giving children the confidence they need for a lifetime of success.

The Little Gym franchise owners get the opportunity to work with kids and make a difference in their lives.  Franchise owners do not always have experience in education or physical fitness; rather, they come from diverse backgrounds.  The Little Gym franchise owners have had one thing in common: they wanted to change their lives and be in control of their own destiny.  Franchise owners report a high degree of satisfaction with their new lives as Little Gym owners, with the franchise recently listed in the Top 50 of Franchise Business Review’s 2008 Franchisee Satisfaction Awards.

Investment Required

The fee for a Little Gym franchise is $69,500 for a standard territory, and ranges from $19,500 to $49,500 for a small market territory.

The Little Gym provides the following range of investments required to open your initial franchise. The range assumes that all items are paid for in cash. To the extent that you choose to finance any of these expense items, your front-end investment could be substantially reduced.

On-going Expenses

Little Gym franchise owners pay royalty fees equal to 8% of gross monthly revenue and a marketing fund fee equal to 1% of gross monthly revenue. Other fees payable by the franchise owner include local/regional co-op advertising contributions equal to 4% of gross monthly revenue (minimum of $1,250 on an averaged annualized basis) and a monthly software maintenance fee.

What You Get—Training and Support

Initial training involves an intense program that teaches the franchise owner every aspect of successful gym operation.  Franchise owners are taught the details of The Little Gym’s professionally developed curriculum.  This meticulously designed curriculum allows franchise owners without backgrounds in physical education or child development to successfully own a The Little Gym franchise.  Training also covers how to work with children of all ages and how to recruit and train staff.

The Little Gym assigns each franchise owner a personal New Business Consultant to help them through every step of starting up the franchise.  Once the new The Little Gym location is open, franchise owners are transferred to an Operations Consultant to continue to guide them through challenges and help grow their business.  Ongoing training programs are always available, and The Little Gym’s fine-tuned manuals and materials keep operations running smoothly.

Territory

The Little Gym grants exclusive territories.
