The NFV is a non-profit organization, established in 1972. All officers are experienced executives in the franchise business. The NFV acts on behalf of all franchisors in representations to both national and international government bodies. Membership of the NFV is considered a strong recommendation: members subscribe to the European Code of Ethics on Franchising. The main goal of the NFV is to foster and further the development of a bonafide franchising. Thus the Association is a major source of information and documentation for potential franchisors, franchisees, students and any other parties interested in franchising. Franchisees frequently turn to the NFV for information about the status of specific franchisors.
