TO SELECTED APPLICANTS |
MEMPHIS,
Tenn. (April 19, 2007) -Basketball superstar
Shane Battier, in partnership with ServiceMaster Clean,
announces the launch of the ServiceMaster Clean - Shane
Battier Franchise Scholarship program which will award
five ServiceMaster Clean commercial cleaning licenses
in 2007.
Battier,
a spokesperson for ServiceMaster Clean since 2005, is
working closely with the national franchise company
on a diversity initiative to widen the door for those
interested in being their own boss. The ServiceMaster
Clean - Battier Scholarship Program provides a unique
opportunity for U.S. residents interested in owning
their own commercial cleaning franchise to overcome
some of the barriers that might limit the applicant
pool, including the minimum financial investment usually
required.
Battier
is proud of his association and reflects on his own
desire to empower people to become business owners.
“Not only is ServiceMaster Clean an internationally
recognized brand, but the company itself is recognized
for maintaining strong values and uncompromising principles,”
said Battier. “They are committed to encouraging
franchise opportunities and this scholarship is intended
to further expand the reach of the company. Seeing the
life-long dream of owning a business become a reality
for aspiring entrepreneurs is an experience that I know
will be very rewarding - for everyone involved.”
A
total of five ServiceMaster Clean commercial cleaning
licenses will be awarded throughout 2007, with the first
award expected in June. Applicants will select their
top three choices from predetermined areas which include
Boston, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Desoto County, Mississippi,
Detroit, Houston, Jacksonville, Los Angeles, Miami,
Orlando and San Diego. These franchise licenses are
worth more than $30,000 each.
To be considered for a commercial cleaning franchise
license, applicants must submit a 1,000-1,500 word essay
on how they will exemplify the ServiceMaster Corporate
Objectives in running their own business. A panel of
independent judges will select the top entries based
on the essays and other key factors. For more information
